DoctorX(1932)isaFirstNational/WarnerBros.horrorandmysteryfilm.BasedontheplayoriginallytitledTheTerror(NewYork,February9,1931)byHowardW.ComstockandAllenC.Miller,[1]itwasdirectedbyMichaelCurtizandstarsLeeTracy,FayWray,andLionelAtwilleee ThefilmwasproducedbeforetheMotionPictureProductionCodewasenforced.Themessuchasmurder,rape,cannibalismandprostitutionareinterwovenintothestory.Thefilmwasoneofthelastfilmsmade,alongwithWarners'MysteryoftheWaxMuseum(1933),inthetwo-colorTechnicolorprocess.Blackandwhiteprintswereshippedtosmalltownsandtoforeignmarkets,whilecolorprintswerereservedformajorcities.
