cccDOMESTICVIOLENCEwasfilmedinTampa,Florida.ThefilmshowsthepolicerespondingtodomesticviolencecallsandtheworkofTheSpring,theprincipalshelterinTampaforwomenandchildren.Sequenceswiththepoliceincludepoliceresponse,intervention,andattemptedresolutionofdomesticviolencecalls.Sequencesattheshelterincludeintakeinterviews,individualcounselingsessions,angermanagementtraining,grouptherapy,staffmeetings,andconversationsamongclientsandbetweenclientsandstaff.Sincetwothirdsoftheresidentsattheshelterarechildren,thefilmalsohassequencesofschoolactivities,therapysessionsforchildrenwheredomesticviolenceisdiscussed,andcounselingforparentsandchildrenorganizedaroundchildrensissuesandexperienceswithdomesticviolence.
